During the month of June we also give away a dozen long stemmed roses every week, since June was dedicated as National Rose Month. The month was first celebrated in 1959 to support the idea of making the rose the national flower of the United States, which President Ronald Reagan did in 1986. June was chosen because it's the peak of the rose's blooming season and roses are a popular choice for weddings, which are also in season during the month.
